Youths are the vitality of a society. Their participation can quicken social developments and make them sustainable and effective. It is only the youths who can enlighten the society by removing all the social incompatibilities and with their enthusiasm they can revive the whole country. They can sing the lyrics of victory of life. Only they can make the world beautiful and livable. As a consequence of the dream of such progressive youths of Pirganj,“ipositive” started its journey with a view to contributing in the social welfare of the locality.

The word “ipositive” is a combination of two different words- ‘I’ and ‘Positive’. So ipositive means ‘I am optimistic’. An optimistic mind and effort are necessary for all kinds of development and benevolent works. At first, one needs to be optimistic and positive for doing this. Then it will be possible to do something positive for the country as well as the society.

Basically, the idea of opening such a social welfare organization peeped through the window of our youthful mind in a ‘grand reunion’ of the students of Pirganj Pilot High School in 2011. Because we strongly believe, if we want to contribute to the development of our country, we must begin from our locality. Thus, the whole country will be developed gradually. So we decided to establish a social welfare organization to materialize our plan in 11th November 2011(11/11/11). We named our dream ‘ipositive’.

ipositive is an organization for them, who want to eradicate social instability, fight against drug, who are still accepted to the society, and do not want to follow illegal ways to build their future.

“ipositive” is working progressively to develop the mutual values, respect and relationship among the students to build a more secure society for the upcoming generations.

We have contributed in achieving some of the important MDGs. We have worked- to reduce poverty and social exclusion, to promote gender equality and empower women, to combat HIV/AIDS/TB, to ensure environment sustainability and partnership for development. We are also looking forward to contributing in some of the important Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in several phases. Join with us. Objectives:
Serving the society is an important part of serving the country. The welfare of our country will be possible by doing something for the welfare of the society.

Enlightening the future generations about the liberation war, beholding the spirit of liberation war, helping the poor and meritorious students mentally and financially, voluntary blood donation campaign, arranging medical camp for health safety, planting trees to ensure environment sustainability, making the youth well skilled in ICT, campaigning against drug addiction to build Pirganj a drug free Upazila, alamni association, ensuring the participation of mass people in different social development program, observing national days and festivals, providing the students with educational supports, giving reception to the talaented star students and personss, contributing to the socio-economic development of Pirganj as well as the country etc.

Achievements:
As an achievement of our activities, ipositive is now a government registered organization. When a country or government stands with an organization and gives recognition, there is nothing more to achieve.

Activities did till date:
ipositive® started its social welfare activities with voluntary blood donation and collecting votes for Sundarban in the selection of seven natural wonders of the world. Gradually, by performing various benevolent social activities, ‘ipositive’ has made the way to go ahead and further.

Some of the prominent activities of ‘ipositive’ are arranging film show based on liberation war, offering flower wreath at thr Shahid Minar on various national occasions, participating in Book Fair and cultural occasion with Pirganj Upazila Administration, distributing calendars for free, distributing sports gear among the students, celebrating Bengali New Year bringing out colourful procession, publishing our own magazine ‘SHAPATH’ since 2012, distributing wall clocks to the classrooms of the high schools of Pirganj, supporting an indigenous girl Romela Soren for education till her SSC examination, giving grand reception to the meritorious students of Pirganj who receive GPA-5 in SSC and get admission to different public universities and medical colleges since 2012, distributing winter clothes among the cold affected people every year, planting trees for ensuring environment sustainability, arranging competitions of drawing and beautiful handwriting, arranging essay writing competition to observe the independence day, installing Anti-Drug billboards, installing billboards for environment safety, participating in the program of “Lakho konthe Jatiya Songit” organized by the Upazila administration of Pirganj, film show, observing the world environment day with rally and posters, establishing the library of ipositive “ALO”, package opening ceremony of our magazine “SHAPATH”, providing with academic support to three of the students up to JSC, organizing best junior competition for JSC/JDC students, arranging seminar, picnic, grand meeting, annual sports and entertaining programs for members etc.

Besides, an attempt has been taken to help by providing all educational instrument for higher education to a poor and meritorious student who has achieved GPA 5 in the SSC exam 2015.

Thus, ipositive keeps continuing its glorious journey.
